Here at Slugitout.co.uk we are keen gardeners and we were looking for a varied approach to controlling slugs. After many fruitless visits to garden centres and websites we didn’t feel we were being told the whole story about slugs or given a wide enough choice of products. We want to have an organic approach around vegetables but the herbaceous borders we just wanted the little blighters dealt with.

So after some research into what was available and knowing that we wanted products that have a minimal impact on the environment a seed of an idea started, and then hearing that one of the most common questions asked at the RHS or Gardeners World live was “how do can I deal with slugs“ we thought we could do some thing to help and slugitout was born.

We also want all products to be as aesthetic as possible which is proving to be challenging with the slug products and this is something we are working on. We also knew that people who care what their gardens look like probably care about the tactile qualities of the tools they use and we believe that the whole pleasure of gardening starts the minute you pick up your tools not just the finished results.

I would love to say that slugs have been banished from the garden, but that would be a lie! But things look a whole lot better than they used to you just have to remain vigilant so they don’t get the better of you!
